Mr. Balasubramanian (Balu) Iyer

Mr. Balasubramanian (Balu) Iyer joined as Regional Director for Asia-Pacific in April, 2014. Mr. Iyer has over 25 years’ experience managing international development operations and overseeing multiple country offices including experience building new offices from the ground up. Mr. Iyer worked in India in co-operative development before moving abroad to work on Asian regional concerns for overseas agencies, and in particular in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. He has worked with the Aga Khan Rural Support Program, ActionAid India, International Development Exchange and the Asia Foundation.  Mr. Iyer was born in India and educated in India and the United States, receiving a degree in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology at Durgapur, a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management at Anand, India, and Masters in Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at U.C.Berkeley.

Mr. K. Sethumadhavan

Mr. K. Sethumadhavan is a graduate from the Punjab University. He joined the ICA Regional Office in 1975. Currently he is working as Manager-Planning / Membership & Assistant to Regional Director. He is also responsible for various other project activities of the Regional Office. He acts as the Secretary to the ICA Committees on Human Resource Development and Research.

Mr. Kulbhushan Kukreja

Mr. K. Kukreja works as the Director Finance &Admin for the ICA Regional Office since 1987. He holds a Post Graduate/Masters Degree in Commerce with specilization in Accounting and Business Statistics. He also holds a post-graduate Diploma from a renowned Government Institute for Corporate Law and Management with specialization in Contract Act and Corporate Negotiaons. Mr. Kukreja is also responsible for the accounts and taxation matters of ICA - Asia & Pacific and its staff. He also handles the financial/accounting matters of the ICA Singapore Business office.

Mr. A.K. Taneja

Mr. Ashok Kumar Taneja joined the ICA as a Programme Officer in 1990. He is a graduate with a Post-graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. Prior to joining the ICA Regional Office, Mr. Taneja worked with the Delhi College of Engineering, the National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation (NAFED) in various capacities. Currently he is working as Manager Administration.

Mrs. Savitri Singh

Mrs. Savitri Singh, program Director has more than 25 years experience working with national and international cooperative organisations in various capacities. In ICA, she worked as Advisor-Gender Program and Communication and currently is Program Director responsible for policy and development programs such as AP Coop Ministers’ Conference, Coop Registrar Conference, Coop Forums, Regional Women Forums, representing ICA-AP in the team responsible for developing of ICA-EU Partnership Project and various other coop development, advocacy, lobbying and capacity building programs. She is instrumental in initiating various gender mainstreaming programs, addressing social issues affecting cooperatives such as awareness on HIV/AIDS, handling communication, Editor of newsletters and Annual Activity Reports, conceptualising, commissioning of and contributing in research, study and training manuals, project on need of sex-disaggregated data collection and analysis, Critical Study on Co-operative Legislations and Policy Reforms, Advanced Training Manuals for capacity building of women etc. She is representing ICA at various platforms globally and at side events at Commission on Status of Women in United Nations and also contributed as ICA Expert on Gender-responsive Institutional and HRD Capacity Building for Promotion of Agricultural Co-operative Enterprise Development with FAO project on Enhancement of Food Security and Poverty Alleviation through Improved Institutional Capacity of Agricultural Cooperatives in Nepal.

Mrs. Singh has a Masters Degree in Political Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations and has also attended various trainings on agriculture credit, food safety, enterprise development etc. Prior to joining ICA Regional Office, she worked as deputy Manager, Commercial, HRD, Vigilance and Public Relations in Tribal Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (TRIFED) under Ministry of Social Welfare, Govt. of India and as Deputy Director in-charge of International Relations division and Women Co-operative Development Project division of the National Co-operative Union of India (NCUI).

Mr. Mohit Dave

Mr. Mohit Dave joined us in May, 2017 as a Research Officer for the ICA-EU Partnership on Cooperatives in Development: People-Centred Businesses in Action. He is a trained mechanical engineer from University of Mumbai and worked as an engineering consultant at Croydon-based Mott MacDonald, an employee-owned management, engineering and development consultancy. Later, he was selected for a brief stint at State Bank of India for its Youth-for-India fellowship program, where he partnered with grassroot organisations and producer cooperatives to streamline their agriculture value chain. While undergoing post graduation from Institute of Rural Management Anand, Mohit interned with a commodity trading firm in West Africa, based in Benin. He has experience in writing business plans for producer cooperatives and has won business school competitions in India and Singapore. Most of his work has been focused on implementing growth strategies, data analysis and partnership-building..

Ms. Anam Mittra

Ms. Anam Mittra works as the Communications and Member Development Officer under the ICA-EU Partnership on Cooperatives in Development: people-centred businesses in action. She has previously worked at Nirantar- Centre for Gender and Education and the Pratham Education Foundation in New Delhi. She has completed her Masters in Development Studies from TISS, Mumbai and her second Masters in Development Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

Ms. Simren.singh

Ms. Simren Singh works in the capacity of a Program Officer under the ICA-EU Project Cooperatives in Development: People Centred Businesses in Action. As a Program Officer, she is overseeing the research work under the ICA-EU project. Simren also serves as the Secretary of ICA AP Committee on Youth Cooperation (ICYC) and ICA AP Committee on Cooperatives in Education Institutions (ICEI). Prior to joining ICA-AP, Simren worked as Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Associate at Seva Mandir in Udaipur, where she supported project teams in streamlining results-based M&E systems across Gender, Education, Livelihoods and Health programmes. She has worked as Research Associate with Outline India in Gurgaon and as a Business Analyst with Goodera, in Bangalore. Simren holds a M.A. in Politics (specialization in International Relations) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a B.A.(Economics and Political Science) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. She was also a Fellow under the State Bank of India, Youth for India Fellowship in 2014.
